Silicones

Silicones are inert, synthetic compounds with a wide variety of forms and uses. Typically heat-resistant and ‘rubber'- like. Common applications are in breast implants, sealants, lubricants, insulation and in cookware.

Common forms include silicone oil, silicone grease, silicone rubber and silicone resin.

Chemelco is adding this range of products as it is used in cleaning products and in food applications as well. Think of car surface maintenance but also used in coolants and brake fluid. Silicones are also used as an additive in many cleaners for its water repellency. In food applications silicones are commonly used as anti-foam and anti-caking.

Car Care Range

Why are Silicones used in Car Care?

  • To support application lubricants
  • Polish cleaning ability / increase surface wet-ability
  • Less effort to polish
  • Gloss
  • Surface protection, Durability & Detergent resistance
  • Water repellency
  • Surface smoothness / slip-less ease for dirt to adhere
  • Shine/ color enhancement

Our product line consists of:
Silicone oils, Solvent in water emulsions, normally uses 50 - 1000 cSt PDMS, water in fluids -
can include high viscose fluids, Polish formulations with ease of use/optimize gloss and durability.
Volatile Silicones, soluble in oil and alcohol, varying rates of evaporation, volatile, non-greasy, good
preadability/wetting, no residue, color/odorless and safe for most common surfaces.
Silicon Glycol Copolymers, water/alcohol dispersible, spreading/ wetting agent with low surface
and interfacial tension for improve cleaning of oils & greases, foam booster, anti-fogging, lubricity,
   emulsification and dispersing agent.
Silicone Emulsions, Similar properties as Silicone oils, such as application ease, Rub-out, gloss and
color. Water miscible, good dilution properties and water repellency on evaporation.

The mentioned products are all in our range and are introduced under the Brite® Silicone range. Since there are many types you can contact us in order to receive the exact silicone which will meet your requirement.

Brake Fluid (DOT 3 & DOT 4)

We are introducing Brite® Brake Fluid DOT 3 & DOT 4, this high performance fluid is specially developed for modern hydraulic break systems. The material is suitable for all kinds of vehicles such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, forklifts and scooters.

The benefits are:

  • Maximum protection against rust
  • Optimum acceptance and transfer of heat
  • Minimum of wear
  • Stable and no cause of deposits
  • High wet boiling point which prevents the appearance of vapor during intensive braking

Coolants

Also we are introducing 2 types of coolants, these products are used to cool the engine while driving.

We have the following 2 products:
Brite® Coolant BS, this is an economical grade coolant which needs to be replaced every year.
BS stands for British standard. The material has no official approvals but will work sufficiently.
Brite® Coolant LL, This is a long lasting grade, it can be refilled and has recommendations from
the mayor car manufacturers from all over the world.

The products come in concentrates and can be diluted 50:50, the BS is colored standard Blue and the LL red/pink.

Food Industry

Also in the food industry silicones are widely used.
Application falls into 2 different categories:
Antifoaming agent, especially for the washing of products rich in protein and/or starch.
In the Caribbean this is the case for the fish processing industry, shrimp processing industry,
   sugarcane industry and beer breweries.
Also in cooking/frying oil and soft drinks antifoaming agents are often used.
Release agent, especially for food packagings and in the bakery industry.

Food grade silicones are also used as coolant and other non-food applications when applied in a food-environment (cooling a machine packaging biscuits, brake fluid for forklift truck in food warehouse).

We carry a wide range of food grade silicones, if required with Kosher certification or FDA approval.

New Silicone Applications

We are still working on new silicone application developments, such as:

  • Silicones for Textile production
  • Silicones as additive is Fabric Softeners for ‘easy rinse' and ‘no ironing' effects
